ENGLISH
The mouth at the centre of memory the mouth brings laughter, kiss and betrayal together in the narrator's gaze. That part of the body stands for the whole woman and repeatedly returns as an obsessive image.
The hands and the heart the voice acknowledges an impulse toward violent revenge and says he restrained it. We hear his conflict and accusations; the lyric does not give her perspective.
“Weeds” and the glass sorrow is compared to plants difficult to uproot. The glass, sought as a means of forgetting, shows her image again: the attempted escape feeds memory.
