ENGLISH
“Pompeya”, “embankment” and “crossing barrier” Pompeya is a neighborhood in Buenos Aires. The railway embankment and level-crossing barrier place the memory beside the tracks; the train brings the image of farewell.
“Codillo”, “chatas” and “corralón” Codillo refers to card playing; chatas are freight wagons. The corralón is the working and storage yard they entered: a scene of everyday neighborhood life.
“The moon splashing through the mud” The moon seems to move through the mud in its reflection. This reading of the image blends the actual landscape with the gaze of memory.
