«Embozada» significa cubierta u oculta.
ENGLISH
“The shame of what I once was and the pain of what I am no more” contrasts the person’s former self with what he feels he has lost. The past weighs on him through both memory and its distance from the present.
“Embozada” (“covered” or “concealed”) means covered or hidden. Beneath the brim of the hat, the tear appears in a scene of pain that he tries to keep out of sight.
“Downhill in my fall” turns the decline of his life into a fall down a slope. The image suggests that losing one’s direction and continuing to fall can be difficult to stop.
“The courage to love” refers to the courage involved in loving, even when love has left wounds. Here, “querer” means to love, rather than simply to want something.
