ENGLISH
“Compás dormilón” personifies the rhythm: the tango seems to grow drowsy within the embrace. It can be read as an image of intimacy; it does not specify a musical tempo.
“Mil cielos de ventura” “ventura” means happiness or good fortune. The exaggeration turns a shared moment into countless possibilities of happiness.
A returning question the lyric begins and ends in the same embrace. Between those scenes, the repeated “tell me” exposes uncertainty: remembering does not guarantee that love is still alive.
