ENGLISH
Conventillo, cancel and organitos a conventillo groups dwellings or rooms around shared spaces. A cancel separates the entrance from the interior; “minga” here means nothing, not even that. Organitos are street barrel organs, turned by the poem into grumbling voices.
Piba, funyi and cotorro piba means girl; funyi, a hat; cotorro, a room or modest dwelling. The low hat, ankle boots and shining collar build the young man's seductive appearance before the abandonment.
The window and the flowers the repeated “that one” reconstructs the absent man through his actions. At the end, the voice addresses the window: dried flowers and garúas —drizzles— carry sorrow into objects. The little stem allows us to read the plant and the girl as images mirroring one another.
